Life lessons learnt the hard way

I went back to work this week after a three week holiday and did something I haven't done in a long while - polished my shoes. In the process of doing this rather mundane job I learnt a very important life lesson. I actually had a bit of fun polishing my shoes and thought I did a pretty good job. However, after a little while I looked at the soles of one of the shoes and thought "Hey that could do with a bit of polish as well". It came up a treat, before the inevitable happened.
